The Chicago Metropolitan Baseball Association (CMBA) officially begins its 32nd season, as teams take the field across Chicago to kick off another summer of competitive amateur baseball. First pitch is set for Saturday, May 2nd, marking the return of a league that has been a consistent presence in the city’s baseball community since 1994.
A Return to Winnemac Park
One of the biggest storylines entering the 2026 season is the league’s return to Winnemac Park as its central hub.
With recent upgrades, Winnemac will host the majority of league play this summer, bringing CMBA baseball back to one of its most familiar and historic venues.
What to Expect This Season
- 29-game regular season for each team
- 22 games at Winnemac Park
- Four-game series against each CMBA opponent
- Interleague matchups with CSYBA clubs under a new divisional format
- Cross-league play with BJMBL teams, including games at Piotrowski Park
- Additional games hosted at Laramie Park
More Than Just Games
Opening Day also marks the continuation of CMBA’s commitment to community involvement.
League members recently participated in an Earth Day volunteer event, helping maintain and improve local baseball spaces.
Later this summer, the league will host its All-Star Game as part of the annual Winnemac 4th For All celebration, showcasing top talent while engaging with the surrounding community.
Let’s Play Ball
After months of preparation, the wait is over.
From Opening Day through July—and into the playoffs in August. CMBA baseball is back.
