End of 2024 CMBA Season Wrap-Up

What a season we’ve had. The 2024 CMBA season will be remembered for many reasons—both the highs and the challenges we faced along the way.

First, a big congratulations to the Electrons for securing back-to-back championships with a 2-0 series win over the Hounds. The Hounds also deserve credit for their strong performance, making their second championship appearance in just three years.

We saw significant growth from teams like the Rebels and Blazers, both of whom put up some great numbers this season. The White Sox dealt with some tough injuries, but fought hard until the end, while the Marlins, unfortunately, dropped out midseason, adding to what was already a strange year for the CMBA.

One of the biggest challenges we faced was the loss of Winnemac Park to renovations, as well as losing Walther Lutheran. Despite those setbacks, we kept things moving, and I want to give a huge thanks to everyone for your flexibility. On top of that, we managed to pull off successful interleague play with the Benito Juarez league, even with the short notice. It wasn’t easy, but we made it happen, and the games were some of the most competitive of the season.

A special thanks goes out to Josh for handling the umpire duties again this year—your hard work made a tough situation much easier to navigate.

Lastly, thank you to everyone for your dedication, patience, and passion. This league exists because of you, and I’m grateful to have you all on board. There will be more updates regarding our end-of-year meeting soon.

Here’s to another successful, albeit unconventional, season in the books.
